Polychrome Virgin Mary Our Lady Virga Jesse carved wood  Statue Infant Child  Hasselt 

this is a small replica of the well known statue Virga Jesse from Hasselt, She was considered a black Madonna for a long time (sometimes still depicted as such), the reason the Infant has no arms is because someone "smart'  sew off the arms of the real statue to make it easier to dress the baby, now all statues of the Virga Jesse are made like this.
